Comprising 230,000 sq ft of new retail and restaurant accommodation (phase 1), the former gravel extraction site includes a lake and Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI) wetland which is home to 20,000 migrating birds, a boathouse and boardwalk with al fresco waterside dining, wet play area and a central water feature and rill. Up to 5m people are expected to flock to the scheme in the first year.
